Our Family Prayers

Bedtime Prayer

This is the nightly prayer that we do together as a family. Our hands are all clasped together.


"Divine Lord & Lady, thank you for all the nice things that happened to me today."

(We then each share at least three things about our day that made us happy. It puts the positive as the priority as the day ends and we are going to rest our minds.)

"Help me make tomorrow a better day for others and myself, and my family."

(This puts us in the idea that tomorrow we will strive to honor the Divine within all whom we encounter.)

"May the spirits of our ancestors protect us and those that we love."

(A reminder that our loved ones are still very much around and watching over us.)

"Amen, so mote it be."

(It is done - so it is.)

Mealtime Prayer

Our blessing before we eat.

"May those who have sacrificed their lives to benefit this table, Find peace wherever they may now be.

Amen, so mote it be."


(A reminder that life comes from death, and that everything we consume has sacrificed so that we might live. This includes both animal and plant life.)
